Tyre goes on the spindle. The inner liner is cleaned of manufacturing release agent automatically — the key to consistent adhesion.

An even band of self-sealing polymer nano-memory resin is laid across the tread zone and heat-bonded to the liner.

Step 3 · Lifetime

Balance & hand over

How large a nail can Halston withstand?

Nails with a diameter not exceeding 6 mm and a length not exceeding 200 mm.

How much does it reduce tyre noise?

Overall in-car noise drops by 3–5 decibels; each tyre contributes about 1.5 dB. Tested at 80–120 km/h. Larger tyres reduce at least 1 dB.

Is it suitable for any tyre?

Any tubeless tyre can be treated. It is not suitable for tyres with inner tubes.

Do new tyres need to be cleaned internally first?

Yes. The inside of the tyre must be cleaned of manufacturing release agent to ensure proper adhesion — the machine does this automatically.

Will the resin loosen when the tyre heats up?

No. Even where tyre temperatures reach 65 °C while driving, the layer remains firmly attached thanks to natural cooling from airflow.

Will it melt in a hot summer?

No. The product is rated for −35 °C to 125 °C and performs reliably in extreme climates.

Does it affect dynamic balance?

As with any tyre fitment, dynamic balancing is required afterwards. Follow standard procedure and balance is unaffected.

Does it increase fuel consumption?

No. The added mass is about 1.5 kg per tyre — roughly three 500 ml water bottles — and does not noticeably affect fuel efficiency.

What if a nail punctures the tyre?

Unscrew the nail rather than pulling it out. Do not pull it out directly.

What if the object is larger than 6 mm?

Use a double-sided vulcanised rubber strip to repair the tyre externally without removing it.

How long does it last?

The full lifespan of the tyre.

What is the self-repairing adhesive made of?

It is a patented product; the formulation is not disclosed.

Is this the same Halston sold in the USA, Europe and Australia?

Yes. Halston South Africa is an official branch of the Halston network — same machine, same resin, same R&D. Local stock, local support, rand pricing.

How is the machine delivered and installed?
